Me Now- 5 months in remission!!

Me and my husband (my heart) I wanted to post pictures of what I look like now that I have been in remisson.. Out at weddings, dressed up and dancing!! I hope this can give hope to others who were pretty much in bed and unable to walk.. Keep Fighting!!! Let's Raise Awareness!

I Wear Lime Green for Me and Lyme Disease Awareness! A little about me: I was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Meningitis in August 2011. I am 28 years old and live in southern New Jersey. I am newly married (12/2009) and have a wonderful supportive husband, family & friends. I am a special education teacher teaching PSD in a public school - I've been on disability since August and…. I really miss teaching. Overall..I never knew a tick bit me. I am now trying to learn how to walk again, drive, trying to have a conversation without confusion and just live my life! Thank you!!! Without all of your love and support over this past year.. I do not know where I would be. Between the visits, phone calls, driving me places, get well cards, emails, texts.. I am truly blessed. Thank you to my wonderful husband, Jon, who has been by my side and who is doing EVERYTHING for us.. he is my heart <3. My parents ( the best parents a girl could have)- Thank you for ALWAYS being there to support me and love me and care for me. My family- I am SO blessed to have them by my side and for all of their love & support <3. Pine Hill School District- Thank you for the social, donations, rides to drs, goodie baskets, love and support! Victory Physical Therapy- without your help and guidance I would still be in a walker and a brace! Thank you for believing in me! Fitness Inc Training Studios for your fundrasier to kick Lyme Butt! All of my friends: who have been by my side since day 1 **you all KNOW who you are** I am lucky to have such great people in my life. I love you!

Here are some great ideas to help raise awareness during Lyme awareness month. Thanks Lisa Hilton!

Some easy ideas are: "Sam's " :) project! Just like I did for autism lighting it up blue I thought of why not use green in May for Lyme! We can Let it Shine Green! I went and bought a green light bulb at Lowes. Next year, I am hoping to contact Lowes or Home Depot and see if they can sell Green Light Bulbs and let some proceeds to to Lyme Research- just trying to come up with ways to help raise awareness! Some other ideas are: tying lyme green ribbons around your trees or porch. Passing out Lyme brochures, and if you are able to see a viewing of under our skin! If you would like to see the movie come on over and I will have a showing at my house. Thank you all and Let's Raise Awareness!!
